Accommodation in Bordeaux ?

in Talkback
Forgive me if this taking advantage of the forum but my nephew is looking for student style accomodation in Bordeaux. He is going to be studying at Kedge Business School for a year and is having no luck finding a bed even just to start with. Anyone help?
thanks

Busy Lizzie lives in France, but she's in the UK at the moment.

I live in the Dordogne too, but it's nowhere near Bordeaux. But I'll ask around. When is he supposed to move in?
It's a tourist town and business hub so there'll be pelnty of B&Bs and aparthotels or hostels he can book into for a week or so while he gets to know the situation locally.
Busy and DD are over towards Périgueux and Limoges and both miles away from Bordeaux.
I do hesitate to suggest this, but, Google? Does anyone in the family speak French?

Thanks everyone, really appreciate input. Nephew is 21, fluent in French ( studying it with economics) and very capable. I think its mum who is worrying?
He is due to start 29/30th August and a B&B for the week would be a good start.

There is obviously a squillion possibility to explorie for student lodging in the town. Tell your nephew to put his French to good use and start making calls so his mum can relax a bit.
Maybe the local branch of the French Student Union may have some contacts?

These are the people who help with student lodgings in Bordeaux.
http://www.crous-bordeaux.fr/logements/ My 4 children all went to Bordeaux University a few years ago. There were about 4000 university lodgings for over 30,000 students. Low income families have first priority. Most students rent unfurnished flats and furnish them with borrowed and cheap furniture, bought at shops like Conforama. Bordeaux is full of flat hunting students in the summer holidays. Not always easy. Ask the CROUS, estate agents, small ads. Need to pay a hefty deposit, which covers first months rent and damages. The damages bit should be returned at the end of the rental period if there is no damage to the flat.
I live about 2 hours from Bordeaux but we were in the catchment area for the University.
On behalf of my sister thank you all very much indeed for so much help.
Busy, there is nothing like sharing experience and your post is very very helpful. I will pass all this on and once again thanks for taking the time to reply
