Blackberry plant

Hi, I'm new to this gardening lark!!

Was given a cultivated blackberry plant early last year, it has been planted for at least 15 months and is growing very well but it hasn't flowered, is this normal?

Blackberries flower and fruit on growth produced the previous year, so you should get your fruit next year image

Cut off the branches that have fruited (when they do) right to the base and train in the new ones.

what do I do if it doesn't produce fruit?

I expect it will produce fruit as Dove says, next year, on the stems that grew this year. Don't cut it back before then.

If it doesn't produce fruit in 2 years I'd dump it.image
