Carrot query
in Fruit & veg
Some of my carrots have grown faster than others. The stalks have grown rather tall and have thick whites hairs growing up the stalk. I picked one today and the carrot hadn't fully developed. I was just wondering if there is anything wrong with them or if I have done anything wrong.

I thought carrots split and grew hairs when the ground was fed in the same year as sowing?
I shall watch this thread as well.
If you only water the top inch or two the roots will never go down, if you cant water for a long time you are best not doing it at all. The roots will then go down and down deeper to get to the moist soil.
I am sure it's been discussed 20 times on here I haven't the time to use the search box though, and I know you like to tell the tale
I make a hole like that, no fear of a stone getting in the way. My dad always reckoned rich ground made them 'hairy'
verdun , sounds interesting might try it next year , always prepared to try something different
