    Coreopsis?

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

Scabious? Could you post a pic when the flowers start opening, that will help a lot.

Portulaca  grandiflora have leaves like that, quite fleshy. When it flowers it will help confirm.

Is it the coreopsis with the little primrose yellow flowers?

    In London. Keen but lazy.

Coreopsis tends to be a bit brighter yellow than primrose.  But a pic with the flowers would be really helpful.

I have perennial similar to my description above. Maybe it isn't a coreopsis!

It's looking quite like the picture and just about to flower

Well the things I'm learning : Coreopsis verticilliata 'Moonbean' is a lovely primrose yellow colour.  So I'm sure there are others..!  Well done B3, I apologise!

That's the one. I remember the moonbeam bit.

Makes a nice mound in a large pot. Very hardy.

    Thanks all.

The leaves are not fleshy very pinnate. As soon as flower opens I will post one.  I have looked at coreopsis and scabious and neither of the images I have seen look like this plant.

I think a piccy when one of those flowers opens will solve the whole problem...
