Hydrangea

One of the hydrangeas in my garden has a "baby plant" growing next to it.

Would it be because a lower branch which was very close to the ground has rooted?

Would I be able to separate the baby plant to grow in a pot or elsewhere in the garden?

They often do that Rosie. If there's new growth on it, then it means it's rooted, so you can sever it from mum and pot it up. Keep it in a sheltered, shady spot, keep an eye on it and pot on till it's a good size before planting somewhere suitable image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
