Hemerocalis Gall Midge

In autumn 2013 I bought several new (to me) varieties of day lilly. Had many in my garden for years with no problem. Summer 2014 up the new lillies came and so did the gall midge. While I can't be certain they came with the new plants it's quite a coincidence. This year they seem to have affected all my plants. Does anyone know of any control. I pick off affected buds but because of their life cycle there may still be some in soil. would it stop them if I drastically cut off all flower spikes and forgo any flowers at all? Would that break the cycle? Do hope someone can help.
