Today, watering and feeding pots and tubs and pinching out sideshoots on the toms and tieing in as well as dead-heading and weeding, and OH has spread the contents of one big compost bin onto the area where the broad beans were, and turned the contents of the other bin into the empty one.   While he was doing the compost I watched the Brits beat the French - tennis that is - bring on the Aussies !!! image

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • Well today I have been preparing the ground next to the raised bed for the veg image

for the fruit trees & flowers

sadly the ground has the same resilience as a war bunker image

but I managed to break it along with what I think was some of my bones image

    slowly does it.

  • No gardening today as it`s pouring down

but on the upside the rains helping a lot with the organic matter I dug in 5 days ago

along with the straw image everything looking good.

  • Yesterday was very variable weather.   I started off strimming and there were light showers.     I managed to tidy up the holiday cottage garden between showers and to strim some of my garden.   I also cleared out a wheelbarrow full of weeds and dead flowers.

Today once it's dried out a bit will be some more strimming and I'm hoping to get the lawns done.   It's bright and sunny and with a good breeze so it may dry out enough.  However yesterday started out like that so we'll see.

  • Potatoes are coming on fine image

runner beans also & what was the raised bed area is now a flower garden

& the veg are being moved to the top of the garden & it`s all looking a lot more

    organised.
  • Thing is where I live sadly I have absolutely NO!!! garden centres

you have to travel over 10 + miles to find 1

I`m looking for a real well run one that you can tell they simply love what they do there image
