Low growing plants

Hi follks can anyone give me any ideas i have a so-so size rectangle ive dug out and i have edged it with bricks and i have put a peris bush in the middle of it but around and underneath the bush is bare earth can anyone give me any suggestions as to what low growing plants i can put in to take the bare look away . i would prefer to grow from seed any advice would be great .

    Last winter I bought a pack of ground cover perennials from J.Parker, they still have them 30 plants for ??17.00. They have flowered beautiful and still are.

    I know you said seeds but you could have a look at that pack and see if there's anything there you fancy.
