I have just watched "The Autistic Gardener" on Channel4 and smiled the whole way through. This is how to teach gardening and a whole lot more. For a budget of £3000 a young couple got a living work of art in their back garden and viewers had the treat of seeing how a team of autistic young people got satisfaction from their work. I forgot the red hair and immaculate red nail varnish and gasped with admiration at the vision and patience that produced such an enjoyable program.

Loved the programme - I used to work with young people with profound autism - it's great to watch them unlock their own potential
And what a lovely garden they created
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I'm not a fan of gardening makeover progs, but this was brilliant! Loved the unconventional approach and ingenuity. Refreshing.
Loved it, so different to the Tuesday night one - you know the one i mean!
I loved it! When the girl cried when she saw what the carpenters made from her vision of the Wildlife tower, I was in floods of tears. My cousins boy is autistic, so I know how hard it is to get him to come out of his wee world and get involved in anything. How they all worked together was just wonderful! Cant wait to watch it next week
does anyone remember where the forest that they featured with the giants is?
Cornwall. Lost gardens of Heligan?
Thanks Marion, will google it
Many many thanks for recommending this wonderful program. Watched it on Catchup and was blown away.
Not sure about the purple sleepers but everything else was fantastic including the pink hair and nail polish!!
Must have made the gardener's parents very very proud
Well done C4
