passion fruit seed
in Fruit & veg
Hi guys , I was at the supermarket yesterday and saw some passion fruit labeled as "giant" they are a little larger than normal passion fruit but not much , anyway I saved a few seeds and was wondering if anyone knew which variety they could be and if they would be worth growing in my greenhouse
Thanks

Hi thanks for the reply , the skin of the fruit was very dark purple , it almost looked black and it was round if that help with an I'd ? I have already cleaned up the seeds but will try them anyway
Thanks
Dave
It could be Passiflora edulis, which has purple, edible fruits. https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/Passiflora_edulis#/media/File:Passiflora_edulis_f._edulis_Sims.jpg
Yes the "giant" was a bit misleading , the fruit was only marginally larger than an average passion fruit. I have planted the seeds so now I will wait and see if they grow
Thanks
