Powdery mildew

Hi, I recently found powdery mildew on my greenhouse cucumber and after a bit of research decided to try and spray with potassium bicarbonate. After 24 hours the mildew had almost completely cleared but the leaves of the plant now have multiple 'papery' patches on them and in some cases the entire leaf is paper. Is this normal? Is there anything I should do to help the plant recover? I'm assuming this is a normal 'side effect' of using the spray? Any help is greatly appreciated, Thank you.

'Papery' leaves can also be a sign of heat stress when there has been fluctuating temperatures.  Just trim off dried up leaves, there will be no adverse effect on cucumber plants.

Thanks for all your advice you've been a great help. With regards to using Epsom salt, would you apply it as a spray to the leaves or pour the mix directly at the base of the plant?

    Thanks again for answering.

  • Hi it looks like I have mildew on my lupins, is it because of lack of water or not enough. I'm very novice at gardening but I do love my plants any advice out there!!!

Powdery mildew usually strikes when a plant has been weakened by drought.
