organic manure?

HI all im wondering if anyone knows anything about planting seeds that you leeve to grow then dig in as a mulch i think at a later date could be organi manure im not sure but any info will be interesting and sounds good in new raised beds

It is called green manure alan-there is loads of information on the web to look at-others no doubt will chip in with their experiences
