Hi Liz. What do you want to achieve with the garden? Just reasonably smart and low maintenance, or somewhere to grow plants?

  • hi thanks for your replies

HI Willdb im looking for low maintenace, and tidy  the garden is about 12x12ft.

Hi Tetley  thanks for your  suggested some plants for  a boarder  but as im new to this dont really have a clue lol, how big would a willow tree grow ? if i put it in the middle of where grass is now would   that be ok with gravel around it

if i was to take off as much grass as i can their is like weeds under it, would i just

put the black sheeting straight on then gravel,or try and let it dry ?

I have Acer 'Osakasuki' in my wet northern garden (now about 20 years old) and it does really well. I have even grown some of its seeds and have a variety of different coloured youngsters in pots growing on the north side of my house. I have been able to supply neighbours and friends with seeds too.
