How do I harvest poppy seeds?

Wait til the seed head goes brown then tip it up. If the seeds fall out they're ripe.

You'll get loads of seed whatever sort they are, I'd sow some as soon as you havest them and keep some for spring.
The perennials I'd sow in a pot, they're much slower than annuals and get swamped in the garden
