New Turf

Hello. I unfortunately laid new turf 4 days ago on the hottest day of the year. Also put fertiliser down first on the topsoil supplied by the turf company. It's been scorching hot weather. Some of the turf has now turned yellow & brown. I have watered with a hose every evening for around an hour. Have I over watered? Has the sun scorched the turf? Can I get it back or is it too late? Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Turf is incredibly hardy and takes time to settle.  Having said that, new turf generally needs regular watering and doing it just once a day for an hour may not be the best approach.  Try watering first thing in the morning before the sun gets too strong and then again in the evening but for less time - an hour in one go is probably a bit much. It generally takes a few weeks for turf to take root.  I'm assuming you haven't got a dog or cat that's watered it too?  Remember not to walk on it either.  Don't despair, it's pretty difficult to kill off turf unless you starve it of water and you're clearly not doing that.image

Thank you very much for the replies & advice it's greatly appreciated. My lawn is around 60 square metres & ive had the sprinkler on it for a couple of hours this evening. I was frightened of over watering but due to the weather the last couple of days I agree and probably haven't watered enough. I will take on your advice & fingers crossed it comes back

I meant a couple of hours from this morning to this evening not 2 hours in one go
