No 1 is a rather hungry skimmia

    Devon.
  • First one looks like a very poorly skimming maybe, needs repotting or planting in the garden. Acidic soil needed, watered, and feed,  ericaceous feed.

The second photo looks like a pot full of weeds to me! I can see a willowherb and the geranium is probably Geranium lucidum, Shining Cranesbill, a pesky weed in my garden.

I wonder about one of the x cantabrigiensis type, That bit stuck out to the lef, looks like an old geranium stalk and lucidum won't have that.

So I can just bin it,if it's just weeds, shame they look quite nice .haha

    well......

Why don't you tip out the pot, separate up some of the geranium, repot and see what they turn out to be. If it's Geranium x cantabrigiensis i'ts not a weed and comes in several different colours, you might get something nice

    and

    http://www.perennials.com/plants/geranium-cantabrigiense-cambridge.html

If it's Geranium lucidum it is a weed and you will find you have seedlings all over the garden already.

    I think it's not a weedimage

The taller narrow ones are the willowherbs, dump those

Replanted only the new looking Geranium plants with good roots on,in fresh pots and compost,

Have done the same with the Shimia,it was absolutely pot bound, also gave it a good feed,

We can only try who knows ,nothing to lose by it,

once again thank you to those of you who took the time to answer my plea

    regards
