Hi can  someone please advise, can you use a all purpose plant food for all plants in the garden even for Ericaceous plants or do you have to have a specific plant food for each type.

For Ericaceous I use the Miracle-Gro one just put a scoop or two into a watering can my Azalea, Rhododendron and hydrangea all respond well to it.

I think the general one will be fine on all plants I watch QVC gardening show and Richard Jackson has a plant feed on there and says this can be used on all plants , so it will not kill them.

There are some that promote flowers and fruit, like tomatorite, and there are some that promote growth, like the lawn stuff, and there all kinds of specialist ones.  I think a general plant food does a bit of overall feeding which should be good for all plants.  I tend to use whatever is to hand, at the minute its a seaweed fertilizer, I think from the results it must be good for growth as everything is shooting upimage. If you look at the ingredients there are different levels of NPK (nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium) these do different things but all are necessary

I'm not a technical gardener but you could google it or perhaps someone will be able to explain it better on here
