What is this weed that's growing in the long grass in my garden?
There is a little clump of them.

Prunella vulgaris, self-heal, I think though it looks very blue rather than purple

I googled images of prunella vulgaris and it does look like my plant. Mine are very blue and it wasn't a trick of the light with the camera
The purples often come out quite blue on here. I've certainly found that with pix of clematis.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
There are cultivated varieties with larger flowers (and in pink and white too) but I find the wild one makes a pretty edging plant, a bit like a summer-flowering Ajuga. It likes a damp spot, where it will seed around a bit but is never a real nuisance.
