http://www.ledhut.co.uk may be worth a try. They're always bringing out new stuff. You could try phoning directly to ask if they can advise on what they might have in the future.

hi ,I have a large home made propagator that holds about five seed trays, I though it would be good for starting my chillies off early and later for bedding and dahlia cuttings.its only a small polly tunnel

i just use the energy saving bulbs I have a couple 6500k colour temperature and 2700k and have grown all sorts early. It works although I am not sure if it is cost effective or not and some plants don't like the extra heat etc from the bulbs/light.  I just use those cheap clip on lamp holders you can get from poundstretcher etc

LEDs will always be cheaper and cooler to run than the 'energy saving' bulbs - and it is what certain serious growers are experimenting with now: I heard a program about a strawberry grower who was getting very good results Using LEDs. Sorry I can't remember any more details.

For seedlings, T5 fluorescent bulbs work perfectly well and cost a lot less than a quality LED. That said, I just read a blog post somewhere on a new LED light that is supposedly better than T5 and ends up being cheaper too. I'll try to find that post again. Either way though, fluorescent lights work great for seedlings and would be a good place to start.

Dan. While I admire your interest in bulbs some of these threads are over a year old and the original posters are long gone.
