broken terracotta pots

I have a idea how to use large bits of broken pots that some of you might find useful.

I lie them on their sides and plant up with sedums. A bit of gravel or the odd cobble on top keeps things in place.

Was thinking of trying alpines. Might it work?

alpines do work in broken pots.  I made a couple of fairy gardens a couple of months ago with cracked and broken pots and put odds and ends of alpines, moss, succulents in them.  they are really easy to make and growing really well image

Thanks p will definitely give it a go. Find it hard to Chuck out frost casualties. If alliances successful, I might just have to let a few pots slip throughout fingers!

I use broken pots too. I have some laying on their sides in the flower beds with either small plants or trailing plants coming out of them.
