Hi everybody, this plant started growing from a pot that had soil in it but  I thought had no plant or seeds  in it.

its a lovely pink and white flower and has more buds growing on the stems under the top flower, if that makes sense.

It's about 18inches tall, I have no idea what it can be so would appreciate some help, thanks image

I can't see the leaves clearly but my first thought was godetia, now called clarkia, (or maybe it's clarkia that's now called godetia)image

I checked the asiatic Lilly and godetia plants but I don't think its them. The petals are very soft flowers and it has a perfume.

HI Yviestevie, yes it does a bit but the flowers are a lot bigger and the stems are 24inches tall from soil to flower, individual stems rather than a clump.

The stems bear round slim half inch long buds at intermittent stages down the stem i guess  this means it will flower down the stem as the top flower goes over ?.

That is how godetia  or clarkia flowers. It may have grown from a seed. A Lily would have had a bulb. It certainly looks like godetia to me.

Hi everybody, I've just sat through a few u tube viewers about growing Godetia's and I reckon that's what they are.

So nutcutlet and fidetbones, thanks a lot you were right.

What puzzles me is that I have not planted them, I have never bought a packet of seed nor have I ever bought the flowers ?? I actually thought they were potatoes when I first saw the little leaves developing, but I'm so pleased I let them develope they are lovely.

I will investigate more information about them and buy some seeds for next year, thanks again people I would never have solved my problem without you all.????
