Almonds for Poland?

in Fruit & veg
Dzien dobry! This is possibly the wrong forum, but does anyone know whether almonds are suitable for planting in Poland (west Poland near the German border at Gorlitz). Any suggested cold tolerant varieties would be marvellous. An actual crop of almonds would be nice but the main reason for growing is the spring blossom (and we're already proposing apples, pears etc elsewhere - need some variety!)

Prunus dulcis is considered hardy to Zone 7 in USA. Check your local winter minimum temp to see if this is compatable. Almonds grow successfully in Germany, but that might be the South.
