Something is snacking on my fruit trees

Hello everybody! I need a little help with something, and then I stumbled upon your forum while looking for a solution, so I decided to ask in person I recently inherited a big garden filled with fruit trees, which is somewhat not so cool, because I have no idea how to take care of plants, and especially trees. But since it's already mine, I decided that it won't be so bad to enjoy fruits from my own produce. But when I took a closer look at the apple trees, I noticed that something is already enjoying them. The apples are damaged, and because I know nothing about gardening, I can't tell if it's a pest of some sort or a disease. Here are some pictures to help you get an idea:

Looks quite nasty and it damaged a lot of the apples already. I already asked around some friends and even called a company which deals with gardening - http://www.fantasticgardeningsydney.com.au/, but they said they would have to inspect on spot in order to determine the issue and propose solutions. I made an appointment with them for the weekend, but I just wanted to see if anyone can tell me what it is in advance, so I can be prepared. I am also strictly against using chemicals on things you intend to eat, so I would like to know if there are any natural ways to get rid of this thing without exposing the trees to chemicals? I will really appreciate any help I can get!

Hi Angelica. The damage to your apples could be apple fruit Rynchites [a little brown weevil], wasp damage or earwig damage. The only way I know of to prevent damage to your fruit is to have a program of spraying from bud burst until fruitlets form [not during blossom time.] The company who are coming will advise you.
Looks like scab; and possibly sawfly near the top of the apple in the second pic.
has the tree ever been damage at any time cause that sometimes causes fruit to go like your photo shows , one of my apple tree was snapped by an unwanted guest a few years ago and its fruits were like that for a number of years ... but this year they seem to be growing fine
Thanks for all the replies! Well, when I look at all your opinions, I guess I have some kind of nasty pests in my garden. Which is weird, because I haven't noticed anything yet. annmarie 2, I actually have no idea what has been happening to the trees in the last few years, I have them for a couple of months only. But what you said is actually very interesting and fascinating
pansyface, yes I live near Sydney
Well, I guess I will wait for the gardening company to tell me what exactly am I dealing with.
