Ants on plants

Last night whilst out watering, I noticed ants all over my plants (Peony, Roses, etc) is this a problem? what should I do ?   image thanks

    They'll be after the aphids, they don't eat plants. Hose the aphids off and the ants will goimage

    Yeah it's the aphids they want. It's really quite fascinating to watch them. They will take over the aphids eventually, and actually start moving them around like cattle. In my garden last year you could see a spinach I let run to seeds, covered in them in the morning, and by the even, nothing. That happened for days in a row. They eventually moved on to other plants, and I had to squish them. The ants usher them around like we do farm animals. Its quite surreal.

    my ants must be a little thick cause they ignore the aphids I have too pull them off and bin them
