Eryngium jos eijking looking sickly

I have two new "Jos Eijking" which are starting to go brown and look unhealthy - they are planted in a flower bed which at this time of year is a sunny position and the underlying soil is clay but the upper level is soft.  I am wondering if we have overwatered or over fertilised them during our recent dry spell.  I have read conflicting advice about digging them up and moving  and I am looking for a way to try to get them back to full health.

Does anyone have any suggestions please?

If it's clay you need to water more this time of year, we have that problem with clay it can get waterlogged in winter.

I suspect they may have been over-watered - they like free-draining soil.

They have long taproots and really don't do well if transplanted at this stage.  Hopefully this dry weather will improve things.

    Good luck image

Logan - we posted at the same time image

Stanley says the soil is soft and he seems to think he could have given them too much water.  image
