Hi

I am new to this forum and gardening too.  My sister bought this plant for me which was supposed to be a ground cover plant, which it isn't.  It is now about 3-4ft tall.  The leaves are very strange pale green with pink veins on top, but silver grey underneath.  Has anyone any idea what it is?  Sorry about the picture quality.

I'd be really grateful for your help as my sister and I have spent ages on the net and looking through books to no avail!

Many thanks

K

It looks to be in the Saxifrageaceae family but that covers a lot of plants! To narrow it down it looks very like a Heuchera, Tiarella or Heucherella, so only a few thousand of those to go through! image  Has it ever flowered and if so, what did they look like?

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

I reckon that's Macleaya cordata or possibly the other one, M. microphylla (maybe)

Excellent, yes it is the cordata.

    Thank you so much.
