Shield bugs - do we like?

What do they actually do ?

    They live and fly about and sit on my arm a lot image  The mother Shield Bug 'broods' her eggs like a chicken does. 

    They live on plant sap, but in this country they don't do any noticeable damage to our plants.

    They're beautiful and fascinating little creatures and there are many varieties.  Enjoy image

    That's good, thanks. Was a bit spooked, sat enjoying the garden and this shield bug sat next to me,.... Haha I had to move but need to stop being a wimp !

    I had one land on my hand a long time ago and it started sucking i just knocked it

    off but it did hurt a lot.
