Primula Auricula seedlings

OneofsevenOneofseven Posts: 338

So far 41 of my 70 Primula Auricula seedling plugs bought in November last year have flowered, and it is so exciting - no repeats yet!   Mind you, I would love to have repeats of a couple of particular beauties.

I think I just might become over run with them, already I can see lots of little side shoots just waiting to be popped into pots on their own.

Oh well done, Oneofseven. They are hard to grow here in SW France.

I am waiting for the 1,000 I have grown from my own seed to flower. All open pollinated so there could be anything.

    Great fun though.

Really Busy?  I had some garden auriculas come through our winter which is a lot wetter than yours.  I was chuffed to bits.

Congrats 1of7.   Are you planning a theatre for their future display?

1000 Berghill?  Where will you put them all?  Even after weeding out duds you'll have a lot left.

It's not the cold and wet obelixx, they hate the heat of our summers. 38° is forecast for next week. But I don't grow them, my English friend in the village does.

That would do it.  Mine are in a shady spot and normally get to 34C with 38 being an exception of short duration followed by amazing thunder storms.

Wow, 1,000, Berghill, that will keep you busy!   And happy.   They are fascinating, aren't they?   So many variations.

Yes, Obelixx, I am planning a display theatre for them.   I have just taken over part of our high roofed barn as a plant nursery, so I can 'play' under cover.   My greenhouse temp. was rising to 45 degrees despite shading, but now I have a pleasant 20+ to work in.   There are roof-light panels above and 2 open sides, so the light is good.   I'm really enjoying it.
