It's about all I'm getting at the moment, still a bog in my larger world.

Awww I sympathise , my claggy clay isn't looking appealing
  • I suggest getting the plants from Aldi early as the staff never seem to look after them.

I would avoid the Lavender standard as it is not going to last long. Olive does fine in full sun. The rest need indoors over winter and probably most of spring and autumn, for example the Chinotto and Lemon. Not really worth it!

Plant care is certainly lacking at Aldi. I don't think I've ever bought anything there but I do have a pear that was given to me by someone who changed their mind. Don't know what it is, possibly Williams, but they're absolutely disgusting whatever you do with them.

  • It is a shame nutcutlet as they do seem to get a good variety of plants at times. it is about the only thing I ever buy from them. Their bareoot hedge plants are very good and great value.

That's good. I've been an Aldi shopper for ages, like their olive oil for one thing. But never bought plants.

Blairs, I bought a standard lavendar as a gift for a friend about 10 years ago, for many years it was in a pot, then 2 years ago planted in the ground; still going strong.image

I have 2 olives, keep them in unheated GH wrapped in fleece in winter. This year am going to re=pot them. My NDN has lemon and she hsa kept it outside in sheltered place near the house

  • Doh! What's NDN?

Rosa - the Olive I had looked more like bonsai to me. What are yours like as I would be tempted again?
