Bugs and Insecticide

Hi. My thorn bush is being eaten by small caterpillars. If I use an insecticide on them, will the poison kill the birds when they eat the caterpillars? I would hate to think I caused the birds harm. Thankyou in anticipation.

    I'd leave the birds to deal with them

    I know that its a thorn bush but if you had some thick gloves could you squish the caterpillars by hand much more eco friendly than chemicals.

    Thank you for the advice. I don't wish to poison the birds. There are hundreds of the little munchers! Lots of larvae also.
