  • Grew mine outside last year, from  early June, used string to support just like some growers do for tomatoes.Used a cup hook screwed into facia then string from this down to the pot.The wall beside them kept the sun's warmth.South facing wall.

Stopped plant at 7 feet, but first stopped the side shoots at about 18inches as they appeared, hundreds of fruit, but to me tasteless and a waste of time.

Gave loads away but no one liked them. This year I have some tomatoes growing the same way and they are doing really well and saying a lot of greenhouse space.

Now on second truss, first truss setting, but only two foot tall and much sturdier than GH ones.Hopefully the roof of the bungalow will protect against blight as rain does not get close to the wall.

    Good luck.

  • I grew mine in the greenhouse last year and made a little support across the width of the greenhouse of a bamboo cane tied up with string to support it. I thought they were great when needing a snack.
