image  will you prolong flowering of foxgloves by cutting back stems that have finished flowering

    It works with lupins which get a smaller flower spike but once the foxgloves have flowered that is it.

  • Yes - once the main stem has almost finished flowering cut it off and you will get smaller flowering spikes. Although I haven't cut my main stem off and I gave already got small flowering spikes. image

    Sometimes the plant will last until the following year if you cut it back after flowering. No guarantee though.
