We are told that the time to start feeding is when the first tomatoes set - when the first trusses have tiny fruits visible. Mine are almost there now, with the odd mini-fruit appearing, and I intend to feed them next week.
Thankyou very much Green Magpie that is very helpful. Happy gardening
And less is better when it comes to feeding them, ladycruiser. Toms thrive on "tough love". Mine are outside in the ground, I feed them once a couple of weeks after planting out; and once more later in the season. Providing your soil is decent, that's enough.
Hi there Italophile, thank you for your recommendations on feeding my tomatoes, I shall heed your advice and hope for a good crop.
