Xhose collapsible hosepipe bursting

Has anyone had experience of an Xhose bursting? The hose itself, not the connectors or attachments.

yes, it surprised our neighbours who were 40-50 feet away when they got a soaking! and all through a hole that was tiny!

  • How long had you had the hose?

Its quite common. Last year there were a lot of complaints about this hose. Ask for your money back.

about two years, stored coiled into a bucket in the garage. so not banged around, kinked or anything, it didn't show any signs of wear when it burst spectacularly

  • Thanks for the info. Happened when I was watering a neighbour's garden during their holiday - have to give them the bad news when they get back today! Am certain I didn't do anything wrong with it, had handled it with kid gloves, so am glad to have it confirmed not my fault. Bad news is, it is so easy to use, we bought one a few days ago....

  • I have purchased 2  X-Hoses, both of which have split/burst. They had not been misused or damaged in any way. I believe there is a fundamental flaw with the expanding rubber tube.

I really don't understand why anyone would repeatedly buy something that keeps breaking image

    Here's the manufacturer's website http://www.officialxhose.co.uk/

However, you should be seeking redress from the seller, not the manufacturer (if they're not the same firm).

  •  I purchased two and two were presents, thank you for the address. I have no receipts and if it is a manufacturing fault as it looks like it may be due to the amount of returns and complaints then the manufacturer should also be aware of the issues I also noted that Asda have stopped selling this item now ?

The Idea is fantastic, but the quality seems to be very, very poor.
