My greenhouse is very small, so my tomatoes have been outside for a couple of weeks now, albeit on a sheltered southfacing terrace.

    Good luck image

Tomatoes in warm climates are perennials, not annuals, so if you can keep your tomato plant going over several winters it becomes vaguely tree-ish (like some peppers). That's all there is to it.

If we could have an actual tomato tree in Europe, now that would be something image

  • Ohh kat, that's interesting! Have you tried this b4, I have heard of one guy here who over winters his toms indoors during winter, cutting them back, but never heard how the take next year?

Show me the way to Tamarillo!!!!!, I gave one of the guys I work with an Apache chilli, he doesnt have a greenhouse, isnt particularly interested in gardening, hes had it a couple of years, picks the chillis, puts it indoors overwinter, has never re-potted it, and its still going strong! My oldest son has a Tom Sweet Aperitif I  gave him last year in a tiny pot in his kitchen which is still producing fruit,.Doesnt look any way woody, just like a normal tom
