Is my Jacobs Ladder morphing into something else!
Hello,
I am no gardener but just bumble along doing what I enjoy.
Have a lovely big patch of self seeded Jacobs Ladders this year but something strange is starting to happen!
Can anybody tell me why I have a couple with a wide flat stem which looks a bit like a runner bean, loads of leaves shooting out all over the surface and one big ball of flowers on the top? All the others are "normal" as I know them and how they have always been
Thank you in advance for any info
Angela

Thank you for your replies - and so quickly too.
I thought by posting I might expose my ignorance but at least I have learnt something new today! I have never heard of it before.
Plants in my garden frequently get damaged as the neighbouring cows tend to lean over and munch just about anything that takes their fancy.
I'm rather enjoying my weird shaped bloom so think I will leave him in situ for a while. Is that likely to make more go like that next year as I don't want them all looking like that?
It really is quite fascinating, isn't it? I will post a pic on the thread you mention and I have enjoyed seeing the other pictures.
Thanks again for enlightening me.
