Rhododendron stump and suckers removal
HI folks
We have just cut down a massive, mature rhododendron that was blocking all the light from the rear of our house, and I'd like to reuse that area for lawn, but I have a spectacular stump to deal with, approx 3 feet diameter and many smaller roots/suckers. The bush was an approx 3mtr sphere, so has infested a largish area. I've read that the smaller roots may not be very deep and could be dug out, but the stump is quite large. Any advice on the best way to remove it, please?
Thanks

Even large rhododendrons don't have deep root systems and are best dug out as it will only regrow if you leave it in.
Thanks Dave
Never dug out a big stump before, am I guessing axe/chainsaw to mince as much of the stump as possible and then dig away?
a small bonfire using the cut stems works well!
