Wow, the previous home owner loved their euphorbias! E. cyparissias, this one can spread a little.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

Not sure that it's Euphorbia - looks rather like Linaria Purpurea.  Let it flower - if you have tall spikes of purple (occasionally pink) flowers that resemble toadflax, then it's L. Purpurea.  A useful plant, easily controlled since it will seed prolifically, but can be pulled up if it's in the wrong place!

Eek, you could be right there Bob! And I have a huge clump in my front garden too - the shame! It is euphorbia like in it's leaves but the flowers are totally different.

I'd rather have purple toadflax than E. cyparissias.

Yes definitely linaria.  It self seeded in my old garden in Oxfordshire for years.  Wish I'd brought some seeds to West Wales!

You've got a good eye Nikki, I think pretty much everything you've identified as a possible plant so far, has been.

Check me out, I love it out there, very good therapy, I'm in Lincolnshire and even though I'm finding it hard work it's worth it image
