No need to buy anything new to get rid of green and black-fly.. My old Dad used soapy water; usually saved washing-up water. (Also good for watering tomatoes, as I found out in the long, hot summer of 1976, when hosepipe bans were diligently enforced.)

I have read that fairy liquid is good, but I prefer to swish a bar of the cheap, green, household soap in a bucket of warm water, until the water turns milky. Let it cool, and then fill your sprayer.  I don't know how it works, but it does, and it can't be any more inhumane than using chemicals.

Also the mixing stage gets your hands nice and clean, so do it at the end of the day. Then you'll be ready to eat your tea!

    Hope that helps.
