Unknown Flower
in Plants
Hi
can anyone please tell me what this flower is. It opened yesterday and although I put a lot of perennials in, I dont recognise this one. It is similar to a Hellebore, but stamens and leaves are different. It is also a bit pestemon like. It is about 9" tall at the moment and 6" across. There are three leaves on each stem. Thank you
Neil

It looks a bit like an Epimedium Neil, but I'm not sure.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Could it be a Campanula? They are tall and come in different colours?
Could it be trillium grandiflora, they have three leaves, not sure
I've never grown trilliums but it looks like the google images of T g flore pleno

I only guessed at that because I,m trying to grow them and its too cold here for them to come up yet
.
to me it looks like something in the windflower (anemone) direction, or Ranunculaceae in any case...
Could we have another couple of photos from different angles Neil. It might help

Trillium flowers come off the top of three leaves, not on a separate stem. Also the leaves do not have that notch. I'm thinking towards a wood anemone of some sort.
Agreeing with Fidget ( what are you doing here before your big day?)
it looks like an anemone, not a trillium
