How to upload photos

hello, not being of a very technical mind (in fact a complete dork !!) when it comes to all things technological I was wondering if someone can tell me how to upload photos on this site. I have a laptop and am on Windows 7. I have managed to upload/save photos to my desktop from the digital camera but need help here.

Please use terminology in the most simple terms as possible due to above image
