Yuccas

i planted a few yucca cuttings about 28 years ago and there looking great now thankfully,  as I'm not a gardener until now, I'm a complete novice but I have a very large neglected  garden and now I have more time and

enjoy being out there, does anyone know if I should do anything to them a couple of years ago I had massive flowers as you can see of me with them but this year there only red stems and not as many, any advice would be great  the other day I took all the brown leaves off the bottoms thinking this might promote the flowers but still only red stems are appearing  any help would really be appreciated as really I don't have a clue how to look after them properly thank you in advance
