Chilli plants have curly leaves

We pinched the tops out of our chili plants a few weeks ago in the hope they would grow new side-shoots, which they have, but now the large older leaves are curling up and the new leaves are crinkly. They have been left outside on a sunny patio - is it too cold at night? why are the plants looking so unhappy?

Too much sun ,or too dry , the leafs seem trying to protect themselves for drying out .

That depends on your location: leaving these outside at night is asking for trouble unless you are living somewhere warm like Spain! In my part of the country (Sheffield) I have to keep Chilli plants inside on a sunny windowsill around 20 degrees C!

the young growth looks fine to me. Maybe those older leaves were grown  in a much "softer" location?

    I'd not worry.

    Devon.
  • Ok thanks, I'll keep an eye on them and not let them get too dry. It would help if the summer weather would sort itself out!
