Wow this was a long time ago... just thought I give an update... 2 months and quite a few inches of growth later, the problematic tomato plant started producing fruit! It seems to be going crazy with flowers now, but the window is running out of space! It will be a real challanhge if I want to move this one outside (and I cannot do that for still a good month or two).
You could take cuttings from it and pot them on in anticipation of having some healthy and sturdy plants for going outside. That would also reduce the size of the mother plant.
Excellent idea, figrat. Take some growing tips - they have to be growing tips - with at least three or four inches of stem, poke it into a pot of damp (but not wet) mix and keep it warm - covered by a clear plastic bag is a good idea - with plenty of decent light. It cuts a month or more out of the usual development time. I do it every year for autumn crops.

Do not move it outside until all chance of frost has passed. Beginning of June where I live, you may be earlier. Good luck.
Oh, and congratulations!
