PLEASE HELP TO IDENTIFY THIS PLANT

Hi Everyone,

Can someone please help me to identify this plant?

It is rapidly growing inside a large container, in a mostly shady area.  The stems have prickles underneath the leaves and it does not yet appear to have any sign of flower buds.

Any help would be greatly appreciatedimage
