PLEASE HELP TO IDENTIFY THIS PLANT

in Plants
Hi Everyone,
Can someone please help identify this plant?
It is rapidly growing in a mostly shady area, inside a large container. Last year, I used the same container to grow Sunflowers, but I do not recognise these leaves as the same as the Sunflowers from last year.
The stems have prickles (or thorns) underneath the leaves and I do not yet see any evidence of flower buds developing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Please refer to the profile picture, as this would not allow me to upload any of my plant pictures via the normal, easy way. (Error Java script, etc.).
Thanks.
Is your photo a reasonable size? Try resizing it and try again. You are using the little tree symbol on the message toolbar?
Hi Hogweed,
Thanks, yes, I was using the tree symbol. However, it just comes up with Java Script Error and I have to quit Safari and start all over again. I posted the plant picture where my profile picture should be.
The size of the original photo is 2.7mb
Thanks
Ignore the Error Message, click on the 'x' and wait - it usually clears itself and your picture appears.

Thanks Dove, finally did it
I think you've got 2 there. The prickly one is a sow thistle and the other possibly nipplewort

I agree Nut

Hi Nut, Thanks for your reply. The first picture is the underside of the leaves of the main picture. It doesn't seem to match sow thistle. However, it does seem to match the pics on the internet of Nipplewort, so thanks very much for your help!
