English lavender

Hi,  I have had an English lavender plant for 3 years but it has never flowered.  It appears healthy and smells as it should, but no flowers.  The French variety is fine.

Does anyone have advice they can offer. Please.

Dig it up and get a new one. Its obviously lazy.

  • Bad luck, i planted 40 that I had grown on from micro plugs last autumn and every one is flowering now! I agree with Ceres, dig it up!

  • Thank you both. I will dig it up. I've never heard of that - lazy - but it's obviously true.  Thanks again.  Marion

Aldi had trays of 6 today. They looked good healthy plants.

Have you "treated it mean to keep it keen"? Just wondering if you had been over feeding it? Is it in a pot or in the ground in free draining soil?

Is it in a sunny spot? Lavender like poor soil and lots of sun.

  • It is in the ground and I did feed it once last year.  I think I will dig it up.  Thank you anyway.
