That's an idea @steveTu. No idea if it works. I have a jar of cloves and boiling a few with the bacon gets really pungent so it might work. In any case, I don't find the smell unpleasant - clears the tubes😊

I am ging to look out my clove oil.  I have it in for toothache - very effective - but I haven't needed it for ages (touch wood).

Too much clove oil is unpleasant to smell, but it is the basis of a lot of flower scents called spicy.
location: Surrey Hills, England, ex-woodland acidic sand.

I've just bought some. I don't want to pour water in the porch so I'll try sprinkling it about neat

Please let us know if it works @B3. I have ants marching up the walls of my house in France and dead ants dropping into the bath 😲

Conkers against spiders don't work, they dob't take any notice.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

It's cheap . It smells nice. Try it. Someone a few pages up  had the idea of boiling up some dried cloves. That might be worth a go.

We started to get ants inside the house so I put a pot of mint outside, right near their entry point.  Haven't seen an indoor ant since but time will tell :D
