Atlas Cedar
We have noticed that our Atlas cedar has started to show some brown needles on some branches. This has happened recently as far as we are aware.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be causing this to happen?
The tree must be at least 30 years old and stands alone in the garden.
Thanks.

Have you got a photo? Conifers all have a period in the year when some of the older leaves go brown and die off. Do the new shoots look OK?
In the sticks near Peterborough
the needles progressively fall off from the trunk towards the ends of the branches because they are either old (needles usually last between 3 and 6 years) or they're not getting enough light, as in shaded by other braches, for the tree to bother keeping them.
If the new tips are going brown it might be more of a problem.
