potatoes
hello all, I got some seed potatoes from t&m a couple of months ago, they were an offer in gw mag (pay just postage, yes, I am a sucker) and of course I either can't remember or never knew in the first place what variety they are, 1st earlies? 2nd earlies? When should I dig them up? I only got them as I thought my children would enjoy digging them up! Can anyone help please?

do they have flowers?
Have be yourself a little dig around the plant and see what's there. I hope it's not jazzy potatoes, I got some of them from T&M and I am very disappointed with them
no flowers fruitcake, lots of foliage, i didn't earth up very well, they're just in smallish black bags
Was it this offer? http://www.thompson-morgan.com/vip/patio-potato-kit/tcc58898TM
if you find a Crown with diamonds in it under the Potato plants then they are the King Edwards variety ha ha
Seriously, I bet they will taste great whatever they are when they are dug up. Usually after the flowers finish you should be able to dig them up and have reasonable size potatoes

yes singing gardener, thankyou!!
just checked site says they can be harvested around 13 weeks from planting when foliage turns yellow and dies back, thought they looked a bit ropey today, although obviously I'far too disorganised to have noted exactly when we planted them!
Am digging first earlies at the mo and they never flowered. Have aroot around in one bag to see if there is anything there. Any idea when they were planted. Should be ready in 90 days for firsts and 110 for seconds.
thanks no expert (you're more expert than me!)
March 14th is 90 days ago.
just got to tell you, dug up these 'charlotte potatoes this week after finding they were very small a month or so ago, the yield wasn't great but the taste was excellent and my little girl had sooo much fun rooting for them, will probably grow them again next year and actually pay attention to chitting and earthing up as I didn't this year, thanks singing gardener for helping me identify!
